Sheep Farmer Training Course
This course is ideal for anyone considering a career working with sheep or already involved in sheep farming. It is also suitable for leisure learners who want to know more about or keep sheep.
You will gain a very good basic knowledge of sheep husbandry combined with an understanding of the biology of the sheep, enabling you to manage your flock more effectively and productively.
The course covers:
Preparation for breeding
Rams and ewes. Practical on RAM M.O.T and BCS ewesLambing
Care of ewes and lambs before and immediately after lambing. Practical on lambing techniques, stomach tubing, glucose injections and entropion correction.Growing lambs
Practical on worm egg counts.
