As our Practice is situated in the centre of some beautiful countryside and with horse ownership now more popular than ever, it is not surprising that our equine side continues to expand.

The Mount Veterinary Hospital has several vets experienced in equine medicine. The Services we offer to the pleasure and competition horse owner include:

• Emergency service with two vets on-call.
• Experienced clinicians.
• Vaccinations and worming advice.
• Pre-Purchase Examinations ("Vettings").
• Gelding and minor surgery.
• Complete equine dentistry service including routine rasping,          wolf tooth removal, cap removal and bit seating. We use a   wide range of the most modern equine dentistry equipment including tungsten alloy rasps and powered Dremel (tm) equipment where required. Unlike "equine dentists" a veterinary surgeon can administer and monitor sedation throughout the procedure should your horse require it.
• Full lameness investigations including nerve blocks, x-rays and ultrasound tendon scanning.
• Pre-breeding swabbing, fertility investigation and pregnancy        diagnosis using ultrasound scanning.
